STEP 3 - Verify Grade Level Eligibility
- Transitional Kindergarten (TK) - Children born between September 2, 2020 and September 1, 2021 are eligible to enroll in Transitional Kindergarten.
- Kindergarten - Children born between September 2, 2019 and September 1, 2020 are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten.
- Transitional Kindergarten
- TK students currently enrolled in SCSD do not need to re-register for Kindergarten as they are already enrolled in our District and will be automatically enrolled in Kindergarten.
- Is there priority registration into a specific school for TK? No. The district does not offer guaranteed placement in a specific school for TK. Siblings will be placed first, all other students will be assigned to a school based on space available. Be sure to register during the Priority Registration period to help us plan for the appropriate number of classrooms.
- Will there be space for everyone interested in Transitional Kindergarten?
Yes. Children born between September 2, 2020 and September 1, 2021 are eligible to start TK in August 2025. - Learn more about our TK program by visiting our Transitional Kindergarten page.
- SCSD Preschool Students
- Preschool students currently attending in one of our SCSD preschools must still complete the registration process to be enrolled in TK or Kindergarten. If your child is attending in one of our SCSD preschool classes, they are not yet a matriculated student and are required to register for TK/Kindergarten. For preschool students who live outside the boundaries of SCSD, you must apply for and receive and approved Interdistrict Transfer, see our Transfer Requests page for more information.
- New students entering grades 1-8
- Will be registered in a grade level based on their DOB.
STEP 4 - Gather Required Registration Documents
Before starting your online registration, gather all required documents to upload during the registration process.
STEP 5 - Complete PowerSchool Registration
New Student Priority Registration Period: January 8 – 31, 2025
All completed registrations received during the Priority Registration Period will receive priority placement at the home school if space is available. Please note, that placement in Transitional Kindergarten at your home school is not guaranteed and depends on the number of students registering for this grade level at each site. If space is unavailable, your child may be assigned to another elementary school.
Students registering after January 31, 2025, will be placed on a space-available basis. Please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page if you have additional questions.
New families must create a PowerSchool Enrollment account and complete the registration online. If you are a current SCSD family registering a new student, you can log in to PowerSchool using your email or phone number.

New Student Registration for the current 2024-25 School Year
To avoid confusion, parents who are registering their child for the current 2024-25 school year should contact the district office to receive the correct registration links. Please email us at [email protected].
Important: Please ensure you select the correct school year. Registering for the wrong year will require restarting the process.
STEP 6 - Receive Registration Confirmation
- After you have completed your pre-registration, schools will review your information and contact you if needed.
- School Assignment notifications will be sent via email by February 28, 2025.
- A second email with additional instructions and access to complete the online registration process in PowerSchool (SnapCode) will be sent to you in the Spring.
- Additional health forms due after registration should be submitted to your school office, not the District Office.
