Officially known as Governing Board Members, School Board members are often referred to as “Trustees” as they are entrusted to ensure that school districts are responsive to the values, beliefs and priorities of their communities.
By law, meetings of a majority of Board members are to be held in public, with an agenda published in advance. School Board meetings are generally one Thursday per month, but additional meetings may be added, and time and dates could be changed. You should check the District’s agenda online system to see a calendar of board meetings, agenda, and minutes, and supporting materials.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend, and may speak at, any public School Board meeting. (Under certain circumstances, the Board may have a “closed” meeting, which could include topics such as personnel, labor negotiations, or legal matters. Closed sessions are not open to the public.)
All board minutes are currently video-recorded using ZOOM. To review Board Audio and Video recordings click here. Action minutes are approved at subsequent meetings. Following every board meeting; the District briefly summarizes minutes and distributes them to the community. To review Board Minutes, click here.
